Paula Rogo

Paula Rogo, aka the Podcast Shuri, specializes in podcasting within Africa and emerging markets. In 2018, she founded Kali Media, a new media agency that is now at the forefront of podcast advertising and branded podcasts in Africa. The following year she co-founded Africa Podfest, the continent’s first podcast festival in Nairobi, while also creating #AfricaPodcastDay, a celebration of African pocasting that takes place annually on February 12. Paula also teaches a 10-week digital course for new podcasters: Podcast From Scratch, and writes a weekly blog on African podcasting, Podcastshuri.com Before her turn to podcasting, she was a US-based journalist and editor that worked for the likes of Reuters, PBS, The Christian Science Monitor and Essence Magazine. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya.
